AIRCREWS AND AIRCRAFT OF THE CHILEAN AIR FORCE WILL BE DEPLOYED AT FIDAE 2024

Military Aviators will interact with the public and will show the multipurpose capabilities of the diverse institutional flight material.

Fighter, fighter support, training, acrobatic, and helicopter aircraft of the Chilean Air Force (FACH), will be presented at the twenty-third edition of the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE 2024, that will be held between April 9 and Sunday, April 14, 2024, on the north side of the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, in Santiago, Chile.

Aircraft of the different Aviation Groups, which include the five Air Brigades of the FACH, will be performing aerial and static demonstrations that will be part of the Aerospace, Defense, and Security Exhibition with the longest trajectory and recognition in Latin America.

In these shows, the audience will be able to appreciate the power of the F-16 Fighting Falcon Block 50 fighter aircraft from Aviation Group No.3; F-16 Fighting Falcon MLU from Aviation Groups No.7 and No.8; F-5 Tigre III from Aviation Group No.12, and A-29B Super Tucano from Aviation Group No.1. Rotary-wings will be represented by the Bell 412 and MH-60M Black Hawk, both from Aviation Group No.9. Likewise, the GB1 GameBird pilots of the High Aerobatic Squadron Falcons of the Presentation Group will put all their skills, maneuverability, and synchronization to test, in these high-performance aircraft.

During the static exhibition there will be on display the fight support aircraft: Boeing E-3D Sentry, 767, 737, KC-135, along with the C-130 Hércules, and Gulfstream G-IV of Aviation Group No.10. In addition, the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Q900 Hermes, and the Airbus (CASA) C212 transport aircraft, both from Aviation Group No.2. These are joined by the DHC-6 Twin Otter and Cessna CJ1 from Aviation Group No.5, and the Cirrus SR22T and ENAER T-35B Pillan training aircraft of the Aviation School. Besides the Bell UH-1H helicopter whose aircrew had an outstanding and courageous participation in the rescue of the Uruguayan rugby players in 1972, in the so-called “Miracle of the Andes”. A Schempp-Hirth Nimbus 3DT glider, from the Presentation Group's No-Engine Squadron, will also be on display.

This diverse flight material and its Military Aviators contribute to the national development and provide essential assistance while facing emergency situations. It’s in these areas where FIDAE becomes the main meeting place between the community and the FACH, a proper scenario for the public to appreciate both in the air and on the ground the capabilities of the Chilan Air Force.
