Over the course of the exhibition, both companies will present the peripheral subsystems underlying PILLAN II, including the SIM (Flight Simulator). The SIM subsystem consists of a cockpit, a station for the instructor, and a mixed-reality visual system. Not only it allows for procedure instruction, but also planned mission practices, for military pilots to be trained under Visual Flight Rules.
This aircraft has been conceived as an evolved version of the T-35 PILLAN, that prioritizes the safety of occupants. It is a two-seater single-engine aircraft in tandem mode. The cabin resembles a combat aircraft equipped with the latest in avionics, enabling IFR flight, new wing design, retractable tricycle gear, and an air conditioning system. Optional night and day surveillance systems can be added with real-time data transmission.
The PILLAN II project will enable the implementation of state-of-the-art aeronautical technology and engineering in the national industry and, in turn, reinvigorate the manufacturing capacities currently available in ENAER and in other companies in the country to resume aircraft manufacturing in Chile after 8 years. And this is precisely why ENAER will be present at the new Air and Space Fair FIDAE 2022 to showcase their upcoming instruction aircraft.

EASA to discuss Cybersecurity in Aviation during FIDAE 2022
Organized by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Cybersecurity conference will take place on Tuesday, April 5th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hall A, Conference Room, as part of FIDAE, the longest standing and most recognized Air, Space, Defense and Security Exhibition in Latin America.
Given the increasing importance of cybersecurity as a result of the need to protect critical data and information subject to the ongoing threat of new technological developments and standing attacks by cybercriminals, EASA launched a community website aimed at aviation cybersecurity professionals.
The website provides detailed information on regulations and standards, with particular stress on information sharing and collaboration initiatives. Thus, in order to keep members informed and up to date, EASA makes Regulations and Standards, Information Sharing and Collaboration Initiatives available through the website, such as the European Strategic Coordination Platform (ESCP), the European Centre for Cybersecurity in Aviation (ECCSA) and the Network of Cybersecurity Analysts (NoCA). This will be addressed during the 22nd International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE.
FIDAE PRESIDENT GATHERED TOGETHER WITH ALL THE STAFF RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS UPCOMING EDITION
Lieutenant General Jean Pierre Desgroux Ycaza, Logistics Command Commander and FIDAE President, inspected the Fair this Monday March 28th by the facade of the Administrative Building of the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE, one week before the beginning of the 22nd edition of this exhibition, to check progress and to fine tune any final details of the longest standing and most recognized Air, Space, Defense and Security Exhibition in Latin America.
Similarly, during the general formation line and after the Chilean flag hoisting ceremony, General Desgroux shared a few words with all the staff currently working for FIDAE, stating that “this event is organized by the Air Force, which is characterized for contributing to national development,” also pointing out that its implementation means a true contribution to the country.
“This year the fair will be completely different compared to previous versions, considering that FIDAE 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Despite the difficulties we have faced, nearly 400 exhibitors and 40 countries have already confirmed their participation, which reflects how important FIDAE has become worldwide and how trustworthy it is for those who gather together for six days around this event,” he added.
In light of the meaningful scope of FIDAE, General Desgroux encouraged everyone to step up efforts and to continue doing a job of excellence, so the Chilean Air Force, through FIDAE, can remain perceived as a world-class event, providing status to the Institution and to Chile.
The International Air and Space Fair will be held from April 5th to 10th on the north side of the Arturo Merino Benitez Airport, in Santiago, Chile.
